Our Story
Schaffer Construction was founded in 2012 by Tom Schaffer. The company’s initial focus was largely based on single tenant retail construction; however, by word of mouth and reputation, the company quickly expanded its portfolio to include a large variety of industrial, commercial, airport, retail and multi-tenant development clientele.
Following requests by existing clients, Schaffer Construction expanded across the United States, becoming established as a preferred General Contractor. To support the company’s growth, in 2019 Schaffer Construction opened its secondary location in Orlando, FL, to oversee operations of the Southeastern United States.
Over the years, Schaffer Construction has become synonymous with advocacy for clients as well as excellence in the market. The company has done this by creating a culture grounded in collaboration and being client focused. This approach has created long-term client “partners” that have relied on Schaffer’s namesake.

Tom Schaffer, is the President and Founder of Schaffer Construction. With a Bachelor’s in Environmental Design from Texas A&M University, decades of experience in Construction, and affinity for creating collaborative work environments, Tom leads the company to provide a best in class service while creating a teaming culture. This collaborative environment creates a shared passion from a unique perspective within the industry. His approach to leadership manifests itself in a positive working culture that serves both employees and clients with integrity and loyalty.

Mike is the co-owner of Schaffer and focuses on real estate development opportunities. Prior to working at Schaffer full time, he spent 20+ years with Goldman Sachs in real estate & credit investment leadership positions in the U.S, Europe, and Asia. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Finance.

Lance, oversees the operations and performance of the company nationally. Lance has a Bachelor’s Degree and Certifications in Project Management and Architectural Design respectively and has worked in the Land Development sector for decades. With a background in, Business Expansion, Engineering, Architecture, Construction as well as Business Development Lance, fosters company growth, client satisfaction and teaming opportunities wherever possible.

Joining Schaffer Construction in 2014 after graduating from the University of Cincinnati, Dan has held multiple positions with Schaffer Construction. Currently he serves as Director of Construction overseeing day to day construction operations ensuring the company is maintaining scope, schedule, and budget. With a team approach he strives for client satisfaction to establish long term relationships.

Danielle joined Schaffer in 2020 and is currently serving as the Director of Construction. With a Bachelors in Finance and 10 years of construction project management experience, Danielle has a unique perspective on how to best serve our clients and her team – by focusing on building relationships, communication, and process improvement. In her spare time, Danielle enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, reading, and working out.

Erin Miller joined the Schaffer team in 2020 as Director of Real Estate. With 13+ years of commercial real estate experience, Erin is building out the Real Estate development sector by focused growth with select clients. This allows us to be an extension of our client and allow them to force multiply their growth. Erin is involved in deal making, client relations and partnerships. Erin grew up in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Real Estate. In her free time, Erin enjoys being outdoors, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
